sarvākārajñatādhigamo na vinā mārgajñatāparijñāneneti mārgajñatāṃ vaktumāha | tenetyādi | tena samayena mārgajñatākathanakāle punarbhūyo'pi śakraḥ sanniṣaṇa iti sambandhaḥ | kimbhūta ityāha | devānāmindraḥ prabhustasyāmeva yathopavarṇitāyāṃ parṣadi sannipatitaḥ | kṛtakāyādisāmagrīko vihitasamyakpraṇāmo vā svāsane niṣaṇaḥ samupaviṣṭaḥ | kuberadhṛtarāṣṭravirūpākṣavirūḍhakāścatvāro lokapālāḥ | sahe lokadhātāvā samantāt patiḥ sahāpatirnāyako devaputro brahmāpi caturthadhyānaprabhavaḥ | "saṃvartanyaḥ punastisro bhavantyagnyambuvāyubhiri"ti nyāyādyathākramaṃ prathamādidhyānatrayasya vināśena tasyaiva cirasthāyitayā patitvābhimānādityeke | apare tvanyathānyatarasattvasyābhāsvaradevanikāyāccyutvaikākinaḥ śūnye brāhme vimāne samutpannasyāhovatānye'pi sattvā ihopapadyeranniti praṇidhānānantaraṃ puṇyādikṣayādapareṣāṃ kākatālīyanyāyena tatra samutpāde'hameṣāmīśvara ityādyabhimānātprathamadhyānatṛtīyabhūmiko brahmā sahāpatiriti varṇayanti | tatraivaṃ parṣatsannipāte mārgajñatotpattiṃ prati yogyatā'pādanāya devādīnāṃ svakarmajaprabhāyāstathāgataprakṛtiprabhābhirmalinīkaraṇatā nihatamānasantāne'dhigama utpadyata iti jñāpanāya kṛtā'to vakroktyādhāraḥ kathita ityāha | yo'pi cetyādi | svakarmavipākajaḥ svaśubhakarmavāsanānirjāto'vabhāso raśmyālokaḥ | caśabdāt kāyādirapi | anubhāvena śaktiviśeṣeṇa | tejasā prabhārūpeṇa | adhiṣṭhānena sānnidhyenetyeke |



 



kāyavāṅmanovyāpāraraśmibhedādvā'nubhāvādipadatrayamityapare | abhibhūto dhyāmīkṛto'bhūt | athetyādi | evaṃ malinīkaraṇena lokapālatvādyabhimānanirāsānantaramityathaśabda ānantarye | imānīti pratyakṣarūpāṇi | antikāditi sakāśāt | prajñāpāramitāmiti mārgajñatātmakām | śrotukāmānīti | śrautena jñānenāvadhārayitukāmānīti | keṣāṃ sambandhinīmityāha | bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāmiti | upadeśamityādi | śravaṇāvasthāyāṃ granthadhāraṇāya śikṣaṇamupadeśaḥ | cintāvasthāyāṃ gṛhītārthāvismaraṇamavavādaḥ | bhāvanāvasthāyāṃ pūrvopārjanānuśāsanī | etat sarvaṃ bodhisattvānām | kathaṃ śrotukāmānītyāha | tatkathamityādi | sthātavyamityādi | padatrayaṃ yathākramaṃ śravaṇādyavasthāsu veditavyam | evamabhyarthitaḥ subhūtirvigatābhimāna evotpādita bodhicitto mārgajñatādhigame bhavya iti viṣayapratiniyamadvāreṇāha | tena hītyādi | yasmādeva śrotukāmāni tena kāraṇenopadekṣyāmi kathayiṣyāmi | cittamiti | śūnyatākaruṇāgarbhamiti bhāvaḥ | triyānavyavasthānamābhiprāyikaṃ na lākṣaṇikamiti nyāyādanuttarasamyaksambodhiparyavasāna eva sarvo jana ityato vītarāgetarayogināpi buddhatvaprāptaye mārgajñatā bhāvanīyeti vyāptimādarśayituṃ śrāvakayānādipratipannānāmanuttarasamyaksambodhyabhājanatvenāniyatagotrāṇāṃ prathamato mahābodhāvākarṣaṇārthamanyeṣāñca pravṛttānāṃ sandhāraṇārthamityābhiprāyikaṃ vacanamāha | ye tvavakrāntā ityādi | tuśabdo'vadhāraṇe | ya evāvakrāntāḥ sarvathā'dhigatāḥ samyaktvaniyāmaṃ svaśrāvakādidarśanādimārgaṃ na te bhavyā yogyā buddho bhaveyaṃ jagato hitāyetyanuttarasamyaksambodhinimittaṃ cittamutpādayitum | yatra bālo'pi janaḥ saktastatra kathaṃ viditāryamārgāḥ śrāvakā na śaktā iti | tatkasya hetorityāśaṅkyāha | baddhasīmāna ityādi | svamārganirdagdhaniḥśeṣatraidhātukotpattikleśāvaraṇatayā yasmātte śrāvakāḥ saṃsārasrotaso janmapravāhādbaddhasīmāno'nutpatidharmatayā kṛtamaryādāstato'bhavyā eva te punaḥ punarabhīkṣṇaṃ saṃsaraṇāya janmagrahaṇāya | tataścānuttarāyāṃ samyaksambodhau cittamutpādayitumabhavyā iti sambandhaḥ | etaduktam |



 



yāvat saṃsāravāsasthā bhavanti varasūrayaḥ |



tāvat sattvārthamatulaṃ śaktāḥ kartumanirvṛtāḥ ||



 



iti vacanāt | punarjanmagrahaṇe sati dānādinā sattvārthakriyāyāmabhyāsādbodhicittaṃ suviśuddhaṃ tathāgatapadaprāpakamupajāyate | ato mahāśrāvakāḥ samucchinnakleśatayā punarjanmākhyamūlakāraṇānivṛttyā tādṛgvidhaṃ cittaratnaṃ kāryātmakaṃ notpādayituṃ śaktā nirhetukatvaprasaṅgāt | bālāḥ punaryathoktavikalakāraṇasadbhāvena saknuvantyeveti yuktarūpamevaitadvacanaṃ kathamābhiprāyikamityāha | api tvityādi | api tuśabdo nipātaḥ prastāve'thaśabdārthe vartate | teṣāmiti mahāśrāvakāṇāṃ vakṣyamāṇānumodanāmanaskāreṇānumode'numodayāmi | kimanumodase | ityāha | sa cedityādi |



 



yadi te mahāśrāvakā bodhicittānyutpādayeyustānyanumode'hamiti sambandhaḥ | kathaṃ pratikṣipyānumode sa cetyāha | nāhamityādi | yadi nāma vineyaviśeṣāpekṣayā''bhiprāyikaṃ vacanaṃ prāguktavānaham | tathāpi na punaḥ kuśalamūlasya bodhicitaprabhavabuddhatvasyāntarāyamasambhavitvena vicchedaṃ mahāśrāvakāṇāṃ karomi | kathaṃ na karomītyāha | viśiṣṭebhya ityādi | yasmādviśiṣṭebhyaḥ kalyāṇamitrādibhyo viśiṣṭatamā eva bodhicittādayo dharmā adhyālambitavyāḥ pratikāṃkṣitavyāḥ | dagdhapunarbhavakleśānāmapi ca śrāvakapratyekajinānāṃ kathaṃ tāsu tāsu gatiṣu janma na virudhyata iti na vaktavyam | yasmādyo'nanyasattvaneyasya jantorabhiratipūrvako hīnasthānaparigrahaḥ | sa samyagātmasnehavato duḥkhasukhatyāgāptivāñchāpūrvakastadyathā kāmināṃ strīguṇaparigrahastathā ceśvarādyanadhiṣṭhitasya jantorabhiratipūrvako graho'yaṃ garbhasthānaparigraha ityevaṃ svabhāvahetunā kleśānāṃ traidhātukotpattiṃ prati sāmarthyaṃ pratipādyate | mahāśrāvakāstu sopadhinirupadhisaṃjñakaṃ bodhidvayaṃ labdhvā bhavādurukaruṇāprajñāvaikalyenotrastamānasāḥ pūrvāvedhākṣiptāyuḥsaṃskāraparikṣayānnirvāṇāsambhave'pi pradīpanirvāṇaprakhyanirvāṇasaṃjñino vyativṛtatraidhātukajanmānaścyuticittānantaraṃ pariśuddheṣu buddhakṣetreṣṭhanāśrave dhātau samāhitā eva padmapuṭeṣu jāyante | tataste'mitābhādisambuddhabhāskarakararaikliṣṭatamohānaye prabodhitā bodhicittamutpādya muktyavasthāyāṃ narakādicārikāmiva gatiṃ gacchantaḥ krameṇa bodhisambhāraṃ sambhṛtya lokaguravo bhavanti ityāgamānniścitamiti | punarbhavakleśakāraṇanivṛttyā traidhātukotpattikāryaṃ nivartate natvanāśravadhātūtpattiriti kathaṃ virodhastasmāt sarvasmin yāne sarvathaikamahāyānasamavasaraṇadeśanaiva nyāyyā lakṣyate | evañcāryasaddharmapuṇḍarīkasatyakīparivartādiṣu pāṭhaḥ sunīto bhavati | "bhaviṣyasi tvaṃ śāriputrānāgate'dhvani samyaksambuddhaḥ"| tathā "ekaṃ hi yānaṃ dvitīyaṃ na vidyate"ityādi | punaruttrāsaparivarjanārthaṃ keṣāñciddaśadharmakaratnameghādiṣvekayānadeśanārtho nītārtha iti bhagavataivaṃ spaṣṭīkṛtaḥ | laṅkāvatāre coktaṃ "nāsti mahāmate śrāvakayānikānāṃ śrāvakayānena mokṣo'pi tu mahāyānaparyavasānikā eva te"ityādi | tathāryanāgārjunapādāstanmatānusāriṇaścaikayānanayavādina āhuḥ |



 



labdhvā bodhidvayaṃ hyete bhavāduttrastamānasāḥ |



bhavantyāyukṣayāttuṣṭāḥ prāptanirvāṇasaṃjñinaḥ ||



na teṣāmasti nirvāṇaṃ kintu janma bhavatraye |



dhātau na vidyate teṣāṃ te'pi tiṣṭhantyanāśrave ||



akliṣṭājñānahānāya paścādbuddhaiḥ prabodhitāḥ |



sambhṛtyā bodhisambhārāṃste'pi syurlokanāyakāḥ ||



 



iti | tadevaṃ sarvākāraramaṇīyatattvanirdeśādāryasubhūtau samupajātabahumānānāṃ prasādopabṛṃhaṇāya bhagavānāha | sādhvityādi | agocaro'pyevamartho vispaṣṭavāgbhiḥ pratyakṣeṇeva prakāśyata iti vismaye sādhu sādhviti dvirabhidhānam | yadi vā svavivakṣitasya vyaktaṃ dyotanāt praharṣe punaḥ sādhuriti vacanaṃ śobhanamevaitadyadvadasīti | khaluśabdo'vadhāraṇe | yaḥśabdo nipāto yasmādarthe vartate | kvacitpustake yaditi pāṭhaḥ | yasmāttvamekayānadeśanayā bodhisattvānāṃ svapakṣasthirīkaraṇenotsāhaṃ dadāsi nānānayavādinastvāryāsaṅgapādāstadanusāriṇaścānyathā vyācakṣate | yetvavakrāntā ityādi vākyaṃ nītārthamapi tu khalvityādivacanaṃ neyārthamato vyāptyartho buddhagotrakānadhikṛtyeti |

deśitā niyatānāṃ hi sambuddhairekayānatā ||



 



ityādinā ca sūtrāntaravirodhaṃ pariharanti | pūrvasminnekayānadeśanāpakṣe ye śrāvakādibodhyadhigamapūrvikāṃ mahābodhimadhigacchanti te tāvatkālaṃ vyapadeśena śrāvakādigotrakā vyapadiṣṭāḥ | prathamatastu pramuditābhūmyadhigamānukrameṇānuttarabodhibhājo mahāyānagotrakā iti gotrabhedo na vidyata ityalaṃ prasaṅgena | idānīṃ mārgajñatāyāḥ svabhāvaṃ kāritrañca kathayannāha | kṛtajñairityādi | niṣpāditopakārasmaraṇadakṣāḥ kṛtajñāḥ | nanu viśeṣamārgādinā'parisamāptakāryatvāt kriyamāṇopakārāḥ kathamevaṃ vadantīti | tat kasya hetorityāśaṅkyāṃha | paurvakāṇāṃ hītyādi pūrvakā eva paurvakāḥ | prajñāderākṛtigaṇatvena svārthe taddhitavidhānāt | asmadarthe'smākaṃ prayojanena kṛtenetyarthaḥ | śrāvakayānapuraḥsarasya dharmacakrasya pravartanāditi matiḥ | yathetyasmadartha iti sambandho yadi vā yathā'vavadita iti | brahmacaryamabrahmacaryādviratiḥ |



 



vṛttasthaḥ śrutacintāvān bhāvanāyāṃ prayujyate |



 



ityanena yathāsambhavaṃ pañcaśikṣāpadādikatvaṃ kathayati | bodhāyānuttarabodhinimittam | carannityāsaṃsāraṃ sattvārthakaraṇapravṛttatvenotpāditabodhicittasya sarvathā mārgajñatayā kleśāprahāṇamityasyāḥ svabhāvena kleśavaśitāmāsādya dīrghakālaṃ pratipadyamānaḥ sannityanena svabhāvaḥ kathitaḥ | anyathā'paripūrṇaiva bodhicaryā syāditi matiḥ | avavadito yathāvavādena dānādiṣu pāramitāsu | avavādaḥ kṛto'vavādi to'vavādaṃ dattvā'vavādakaḥ kṛta iti vyutpattiḥ | kvacidavavādita iti pāṭhaḥ sugamaḥ | anuśiṣṭo'nuśāsanyā | tatreti teṣu śrāvakeṣu kvacidavasthāyāñcarateti | yathoktasvabhāvasya bhūtakoṭerasākṣātkaraṇena prajñopāyakauśalena ca dānādibhiraparigṛhītāsamādāpitāparimocitasattvaparigrahaṇasamādāpanaparimocanādikarma kurvatā sambhṛtasambhāreṇeti kāritramāveditamanyathā'dhigamānupapattyā | anuttaraṃ tāthāgataṃ jñānamutpāditamadhigatam | evaṃ dṛṣṭāntamāvedya dārṣṭāntikamarthamāha | evamityādi | evamiti tathetyarthaḥ | apiśabdānna kevalaṃ bhagavatā'smābhirapi mahāśrāvakairavavādānuśāsanībhyāmevānugrahaparīndanānyāyenānuparigrahītavyā anuparivārayitavyāśca | tathottarottaraparipākārthaṃ saṃparigrahītavyāḥ saṃparivārayitavyāśceti | caśabdo'vadhāraṇārthaḥ | ko'tra pratibandho yathā bhagavān pūrvaṃ bodhisattvāvasthāyāṃ śrāvakairanuparigṛhīto bhavadbhirapi śrāvakairanye bodhisattvāstathānuparigrahītavyā iti | tatkasya hetorityāśaṅkyāha | asmābhirapītyādi | ayamāśayo yathā pūrvaśrāvakaiḥ svabuddhānāṃ bodhisattvāvasthāyāmasmadarthe brahmacaryacaraṇaṃ jātamiti pūrvakṛtopakārāvabodhakāraṇena teṣāṃ pratyupakāracikīrṣayā tadantike'smadarthaṃ brahmacaryaṃ caran bhagavān bodhisattvāvasthāyāṃ priyatamaḥ śākyamuniranuparigṛhītaḥ | asmābhirapi śrāvakaiḥ śākyādhirājasya bodhisattvāvasthāyāmasmadarthe brahmacaryacaraṇaṃ jātamiti pūrvakṛtopakārāvabodhakāraṇena bhagavataḥ pratyupakārābhiprāyādyuṣmadantike'nāgatasattvārthaṃ brahmacaryaṃ bodhisattvāḥ priyatamāścaranto'nuparigrahītavyāḥ | evaṃ hi vayaṃ bhagavataḥ kṛtajñā iti | evamanuparigrahe kiṃ bhavatītyāha | kṣipramityādi | abhisambhotsyante'dhigamiṣyanti | kvacidabhisambudhyanta iti pāṭhaḥ | sa tu nahi tadānīmevābhisambudhyante'nuparigṛhītā iti ,cintyamityeke | avikalakāraṇasampattyā kāryodayavivakṣāyāṃ vartamānanirdeśa ityaparaḥ | yathoktameva dhyāmīkaraṇādikaṃ pratipattavyam | tathācoktam |



 



dhyāmīkaraṇatā bhābhirdevānāṃ yogyatāṃ prati |



viṣayo niyato vyāptiḥ svabhāvastasya karma ca ||1 iti |



 



ādhārādikamevamabhidhāya śrāvakamārgārthamāha | atha khalvāyuṣmānityādi | tena hīti | yasmānmārgajñatādhikāre svamārgaparyantagatimāsādya yānāntaravineyasattvārthaṃ pratyasākṣātkaraṇena sahetukamārgopadeśaparicayakauśalyāt sarvamārgāḥ paripūrayitavyā bodhisattvena tasmāt kāraṇācchrāvakamārgaṃ bhāṣiṣye'haṃ kauśika śṛṇviti sambandhaḥ  yathā deve varṣatyapyavāṅmukhe ghaṭe na  kiñcidapyudakaṃ praviśati tadvattvamavāṅmukho bhūtvā'pratipattyā mā śṛṇvityāha | sādhu ceti | yathottānāśucighaṭe yadudakaṃ praviśati tat sarvamaśucībhavatyakāryopagataṃ tadvattvaṃ viparītapratipattyā śrutamaśucīkurvan mā śṛṇvityāha | suṣṭhu ceti | yathottānaśucichidraghaṭaṃ praviśatyudakaṃ na tu tiṣṭhati tadvattvamasthirapratipattyā mā śṛṇu kintu tathā śṛṇu yathā paṭutarānubhavadvāreṇa cetasi sthirībhavatītyāha | manasi kurviti | evaṃ hi śravaṇaṃ saphalamityācāryavasubandhuḥ | madhyastho'rthīvabhūtvā śṛṇviti yathākramamāha | sādhu ca suṣṭhu ceti | tathaiva vicārako bhūtvā nirūpayetyāha | manasi kurviti | anena śrotṛlakṣaṇamāveditamityāryadevaḥ | bhāṣiṣye'haṃ ta iti tavānugrahāya prakāśayiṣyāmi | kathaṃ bhāṣiṣya ityāha | yathetyādi | yathā yena prakāreṇa prajñāpāramitāyāṃ śrāvakamārgasvabhāvāyāṃ sthātavyaṃ pratipattavyam | evamabhyupagamyedānīmāha | śūnyatāyāmiti | duḥkhādicaturāryasatyasambandhināmākārāṇāmanupalambhe sāmānyoktāvapi viśeṣapratītiḥ pūrvācāryasampradāyādyanusāreṇa bhavatīti nātra sandehaḥ | tadayaṃ saṃkṣepārthaḥ | tatrodayavyayadharmitvenānityataḥ | sāśravasya vastunaḥ pratikūlatvena duḥkhataḥ | evaṃ kṛtvā'nityo'pyāryamārgo'nāśravatvenāryāṇāmapratikūla iti nāsya duḥkhatvaprasaṅgaḥ | pareṇātmanā śūnyatvādanātmataḥ | svayamanātmatvena śāntata iti duḥkhasatyākārāḥ | phalasyeva bījaṃ mūlahetutvena rogataḥ | phalasamudayatvena gaṇḍataḥ | duḥkhapratyayatvena śalyataḥ | duḥkhaparamparāprabhavatvenātyarthaghātādanyata iti samudayasatyākārāḥ | pratyarthikabhūtatvena parataḥ | pratyarthikabhāvasya pralopadharmatvāt pralopadharmata iti | tayoreva duḥkhasamudayayoḥ pratyekaṃ nirvedākārau | svarūpānavasthitatvena calataḥ | hetvanapekṣasya prakṛtyaiva bhaṅguratvena prabhaṅgurata iti | tayoreva pratyekaṃ virāgākārau | aihikāmutrikātaṅkasthānatvena bhayataḥ | rakṣaḥprabhṛtīnāmupakramagamyatvenopasargataḥ | mahābhūtasaṃkṣobhāśanipātādyupakramāspadatvenopadravataśceti tayoreva pratyekaṃ nirodhākārāḥ | evañca kṛtvā''ryaśrāvako nirvide virāgāya nirodhāya ca pratipanno bhavatītyāgamārthaḥ kathitaḥ syāt | kleśavisaṃyogatvena nirātmataḥ | duḥkhapraśamatvena śāntataḥ | sukhaśucivastutvena viviktataḥ | nityahitavastutvena śūnyānimittāpraṇihitānabhisaṃskārata iti nirodhasatyākārāḥ | nirvāṇapurapariprāpaṇārthena mārgataḥ | niḥśeṣakleśapratipakṣarāśibhāvena nyāyataḥ | cittasyāviparyāsapratipādanārthena pratipattitaḥ | nirabhiniveśanityasthānagamanena nairyāṇikata iti mārgasatyākārāḥ | tathāca satyamunā krameṇa mahāyāne kecidākārāḥ paryāyataḥ kecicca svarūpato nirdiṣṭā iti nāśrāvakamārgatvaprasaṅgaḥ | tataścaiṣāṃ caturāryasatyasaṅgatānāṃ svabhāvānupalambhabhāvanayā mārgajñatādhikāre śrāvakāṇāṃ mārgo bodhisattvena parijñeya iti | asya cārthasaṃkṣepasya pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikāyāṃ spaṣṭamupalabhyamānatvānna vipratipattiḥ kāryā | tathācoktam |

yasmānnirvedhabhāgīyādhigamapurvakaṃ catuḥsatyaparijñānaṃ tasmādbodhisattvenoṣmādhigamārthaṃ rūpaṃ rūpasvabhāvena śūnyam | evaṃ vedanādayo yā ca rūpasya śūnyatā yā ca vedanādīnāmadvayametadadvaidhīkāramityabhedato bhāvanīyam | ayañcārtho mahāsannāhasannaddhena bhavitavyamityanena kathitaḥ | tathāhi madhyamāyāṃ jinajananyāmuktam | "kiyatā bodhisattvo mahāsannāhasannaddho bhavati | iha subhūte bodhisattvaḥ śūnyatayā sarvadharmānabhedataḥ pratyavekṣata"ityādi || tathācoktam |

iti mūrdhārthamāha | na rūpe sthātavyamityādi | upalambhayogeneti bhāvaḥ | eṣāmeva pañcaskandhānāṃ na cakṣupītyādinā na smṛtyupasthāneṣvityādinā na śrotaāpattiphala ityādinā ca yathākramaṃ sāśravobhayānāśravavattvena prabhedaṃ darśayatīti hārakārthaḥ | dhātvādīnāñca svarūpalakṣaṇamabhipratītamiti na likhitam | yāvanna manovijñāna ityatra yāvadgrahaṇena ghrāṇādivijñānātideśaṃ karoti | na buddhatve sthātavyamityanuttarasamyaksambuddhatve yadyādhārātmake rūpādau na sthātavyamevaṃ tarhi vyāvṛttiphalatvāt sarvavākyānāṃ rūpādikamiti tādātmyenāvasthānaṃ prāptamiti kasyacidāśaṅkāniṣedhārthamāha | iti hi na rūpamityādi | itiśabdastasmādarthe | hiśabdaḥ pūrvavat | tadayaṃ vākyārtho yasmānnyāyato'nupalambhabhāvanayā rūpāderasattvādādhārabhāvanānupapattistasmādeva ca kāraṇāt svarūpavirahe tādātmyenānyathā copagamo na yuktarūpaḥ | sannihitavineyajanaviparyāsanirācikīrṣayā tu kathañcidādhārabhāvena nirdeśānna vyāvṛttiphalamāstheyamato mūrdhādhigamārthaṃ sarvathānupalambhabhāvanā rūpādīnāṃ vidheyeti | tathācoktam |

apariniṣṭhitatvādityādi | aparisamāptakāryatvātsakṛdekavāram | imam manuṣyalokamāgamya saṃprāpya duḥkhasya rāgādikleśagaṇasyāntaṃ vināśaṃ kariṣyati | tatraivāntarābhavādyavasthāyām | ihaiveti | yasminneva janmanyarhañjātastasminnevetyarthaḥ | anupadhiśeṣanirvāṇadhātāviti | na vidyanta upadhayaḥ skandhāḥ sarvarāgādiprahāṇāvaśeṣībhūtatvena śeṣā yasminnirvāṇe tattathoktam | nirvāntyasminsarve vikalpā iti nirvāṇaṃ tathatā | tadeva dhātustadālambanabhāvenāryāṇāṃ niṣpatterheturatastasminniti yojanīyam | śrotaāpanna ityādi | caturvidhaphalasthopādānena nāntarīyakatayā pratipannakāvasthāścatastro'pi grāhyāstena śrāvakabhūmiraṣṭaprakārā bhavati | yasya ca pudgalasya yāvanmātrakleśaprakāraprahāṇena pratipannakatvādivyavasthā tatprāgevoktamiti na punarupanyasyate | pratyekabuddha ityādyuddeśapadaṃ nirdiśannāha | pratyekabuddho'tikrametyādi | ātmānamekaṃ pratinimittabhūtaṃ svabodhiṃ buddhavān svayamiti pratyekabuddhaḥ naivaṃ śrāvake'pi prasaṅgastasya paropadeśasāpekṣatvāt | na ca samyaksambuddhe'pi prasaṅgastasya sarvākārajñatāyāḥ sarvasattvārthoddeśena viśiṣṭatvāt | anena ca navamī pratyekabuddhabhūmiruktā | grāhyārthavikalpaprahāṇena śrāvakabhūmimatikramyollaṃdhya grāhakārthavikalpāprahāṇenānuttarabuddhabhūmimaprāpyānadhigamya | tathaiva buddho dakṣiṇīya iti | na sthātavyamiti padaṃ vivṛṇvannāha | buddha ityādi | pṛthagjanabhūtamiti | adhimukticaryābhūmim | aprameyāṇāmityādi | pratyakṣādipramāṇena pramātumaśakyatvādaprameyāṇām | ekatvādisaṅkhyārahitatvenāsaṅkhyānām | etena yatra kvacidvinayādau subhadrāntapratiniyatasattvārthakaraṇamuktam | tadābhiprāyikamityupapannam | yadvātra lokadhātāvarthakriyāmadhikṛtya taduktamanyatra tu nirmāṇameghaiḥ sarvalokadhātuṣu sattvārthakāraṇādaprameyādivacanamaviruddham | athavā'nyādevedaṃ prativiśiṣṭaṃ mahāyānasaṃjñitaṃ yānāntaraṃ gāmbhīryādiyuktamato'tra vilakṣaṇaiva deśaneti na yānāntareṇa saha virodho vācyaḥ | tathānyatrāpyevaṃjātīyakeṣvartheṣvayameva parihāro grāhyaḥ | sattvānāmarthaṃ kṛtveti | keṣāṃciddānādibhirabhyudayadharmaṃ niṣpādya parinirvāpyeti śrāvakādinirvāṇe kāṃścinniḥśreyasadharme pratiṣṭhāpya | śrāvakapratyekabuddhasamyaksambuddhatvaniyatāniti yasya kuśalanirvedhabhāgīyāderadhigamānniyamenābhyudayaniḥśreyasadharmo prāpyate tatra hetau sthāpanādanyānniyatānniyatagotrasthāniti yāvat | buddhabhūmāvityanena samantaprabhā daśamī buddhabhūmiḥ kathitā | buddhakṛtyamiti dharmacakrapravartanam | buddhaparinirvāṇeneti śrāvakādyasādhāraṇaparinirvāṇena | etacca parinirvāṇamiṣṭaṃ nirmāṇakāyena | kuta etat | āgamādyuktitaśca | tathā hi ye samagrasthitihetavaste nityamuparatasthitidharmāṇo na bhavanti | yathā saṃpūrṇadahanendhanādisamagrasthitikāraṇā dhūmādayaḥ | samyagāsaṃsāramavikalasthitihetavaśca buddhā bhagavanta iti | sthitivicchedavyāpakenāsamagrasthitihetutvena viruddhasya samagrasthitihetutvasyeha vidhānādvyāpakaviruddhopalabdhiḥ | kathaṃ hetusiddhiriti ceducyate | sthitihetuvaikalyaṃ sattvārthasaṃpādanaśaktiparikṣayānmahākaruṇāvyapagamādāyuḥsaṃskārāvasthāpanavaśitābhraṃśāñjīvitendriyavipākakarmamaryādānādbuddhavineyasattvābhāvato vā bhavet | tatra śāsturavyāhataśaktijñānapratijñānānna prathamo vikalpaḥ | ko hi tasyānyathā khaṅgāderviśeṣaḥ syāt | dīrghakālābhyāsena śrotriyajoṭiṅganairghṛṇyavatsātmīkṛtatvānmahākṛpāyāḥ | na yatnena vinā hāniryatnastu nādoṣadarśanādvivṛddhatadrasāsvādalampaṭasya tasyāmeva buddheḥ pakṣapātāditi | nāpi dvitīyo vikalpaḥ saṃbhavati | ṛddhipādābhyāsakāṣṭhāvasānagamanāt | na vikalpastṛtīyo'pi yuktisaṅgataḥ | tathā hyuktam | "yasya kasyacidānanda catvāra ṛddhipādā āsevitā bhāvitā bahulīkṛtā ākāṅkṣan sa kalpaṃ vā tiṣṭhet kalpāvaśeṣaṃ vā,tathāgatasyānanda catvāra ṛddhipādā āsevitā bhāvitā bahulīkṛtā ākāṅkṣan sa tathāgatakalpaṃ vā tiṣṭhet kalpāvaśeṣaṃ veti"| jīvitaphalakarmasaṃkṣayo'pi nānalpakalpopacitaprāṇātipātaprativiraterabhyastānantopāyadānapāramitasya guroḥ sambhāvyate | ayaṃ hi hetuphalayoḥ dharmo yat prakṛṣṭāddhetoḥ prakṛṣṭaṃ phalamaprakṛṣṭāccāprakṛṣṭamiti | anyathā kāraṇaprakarṣābhyāṃ kārye tadasambhavānnopakāryopakārakabhāvo bhavet | tadgatabhedānapekṣaṇāt | asti ca śāsturamitajīvitakāraṇamanavadyāmitaparabadhaviratyādīti kathamabdaśatamapyanavasthānam | sarvasyaivāsya sarvajñatāphalamiti cet nābhimukhyena dīrghakālajīvitaphalasaṃvarṇanāt | prāṇātipātaviratidānapāramitayorhyanvayavyatirekābhyāmanalpamāyuḥ phalamupavarṇitam | yaśca yasyābhimukhyena heturvarṇyate sa paripuṣṭapratyayasamavadhānena | tadutpādayannevānyasyāpi yadi nimittatāṃ pratipadyate tadā na doṣaḥ | na tvasakṛdviniścitaṃ phalamapahāyānyadutpādayati sakṛdapyatajjanakatvaprasaṅgāt | kiñca dharmatatvābhyāsavaśādeva sarvākārajñatopajāyate | puṇyasambhārastu tasya viśiṣṭāśrayotpādanādānuguṇyamāpadyate | tasmāt sāhasamātraṃ puṇyaparikṣayādbhagavato maraṇavarṇanam | syānmatistathāgatavineyasattvāsambhavāt parinirvāṇamiti | tadatra cintyam | kiṃ buddharūpavineyā eva sattvā vidyante kiṃ vā rūpāntaravineyā apīti | yadi pūrvaḥ pakṣastadā śakrādirūpasandarśanavineyajanasambhavāttādrūpyeṇa kinnāvatiṣṭhet | āśrayante hi dayāvidheyacetasaśceṣṭāntaramapi janahitasampādanāya yathā bhagavataiva cakravartirūpamāsthitam | na ca śakrādirūpavineyābhāvo'pi jñāpakābhāvāt | śakrādīnāṃ paropakārābhāvaprasaṅgācca | api ca | ekatra lokadhātau buddharūpavineyajanābhāve'pi lokadhātvantareṣvaparimiteṣu tadbhāvāt kimasya parinirvāṇam| dhātvantare'pi te na sambhavantīti cet | tadidamajñāpakaṃ nahīdaṃ paṭhyate kvacit sarveṣveva lokadhātuṣu buddharūpasandarśanavineyāḥ sattvā na santīti | atha matam | niyamato na santi | sattve hi parārthavṛtteḥ kiṃ parinirvāṇamiti | nanvidameva na siddhaṃ parinirvṛta iti | yasmādekatra dhātau buddharūpasandarśanavineyāsattve nirvāṇopadarśanavineyajanānugrahavidhānāyopadarśitanirvṛtirapyanyatrāvikalaṃ jātibodhidharmacakrapravartanādyupadarśayatītyayaṃ samayaḥ |

anyaccānye'pi tāvat sādhavo bodhibhavabhāvinaḥ | kṛpādāridrye'pi satyadhanapālanāya pratijñātārthanirvahaṇamavaśyaṃ tayā sarvaśaktiparikṣayeṇāpi sampādayanto dṛśyante | tathāgatāstu sakalasādhujanacūḍāmaṇayaḥ samuttīrṇabhavabhayāḥ sātmīkṛtahrīsatyakṛpādharmāṇo'pratihatajñānaśaktayo na sampādayantīti kaḥ punaḥ sacetanaḥ śraddadhyāt | pratijñātañca taiḥ sattvānāmatyantaduḥkhanirmokṣaṇam | tathā hi bhagavatā pūrvaṃ praṇihitam |

na ca jagacchabdena katipayasattvagrahaṇaṃ nyāyyam | mā bhūta sarvasattvālambanābhāvo mahākaruṇāyā iti | ataśca yāvadeko'pi sattvo'ste na tāvannirvāṇaṃ kṛpāśayasya yuktam | na sambhavatyaparyantatvāt sarvasattvānāṃ saṃsārādabhyuddharaṇamiti cet | ata eva dayāmayasya tadāśayasyāparyantamevāvasthānamanyathā na pratijñānurūpamanuṣṭhānaṃ bhavet | na ca mahākaruṇānurūpam | tathā hīyaṃ mahākaruṇā sarvasattvaduḥkhaparitrāṇecchākārā tadasyāḥ subhāvitāyāḥ kuto'kāṇḍa eva vicchedaḥ | syānmatiḥ | na vicchedaḥ kintu ye tatkālabhāvino buddhavineyāḥ subhadrāntāste sarve vinītāḥ | ye cānye kālāntareṇa paripakvasantatayo bhaviṣyanti | tadarthakaraṇāyānya eva tathāgatāḥ krameṇotpatsyante | tatastaddhitasampādanāyānyameva kañcidbodhisattvamabhiṣicya parinirvāti | anyathāntarāle'parārthavṛtternirarthakamavasthānaṃ bhavediti | tadayuktam | buddhavineyasattvābhāvasyāsiddhatvāt | sarvalokadhātuṣu kriyāntaravineyajanabhāvācca| yathoktaṃ prāk | na cānarthakamavasthānaṃ tadarthakaraṇāyaivāvasthānāt | yathā śākyādhirājasyaiva subhadrapratīkṣayā katipayakṣaṇāvasthānamabhūt | svalpataraḥ sa kāla ityapi na samyak | yenābhipretaphalāhitacetaso na kālasya dairdhyamadairdhyaṃ vā gaṇayanti | kālāntareṇa paripakvasantatiṣvapara eva samartho bhaviṣyatītyanuttaram | yasmādevaṃ bodhicittotpādane'pi na yatnaḥ prāpnoti bahūnāṃ lokābhyuddharaṇāśayānāṃ vyāpāradarśanādetaireva vyāpṛtāḥ kimatra mayā kartavyamityāśayāt | kāruṇikatvādimāṃ gaṇanāmakṛtvā vṛttiścet | atyantāvasthāne kasmādgaṇānāmārabhante | yuktā hi tasyāmavasthāyāmagaṇanā sātmīkṛtatvādvṛttihetoḥ karuṇāyāḥ |

guṇamayamūrtestu bhagavato'tyantocchedalakṣaṇāyāṃ parinirvṛtāviṣyamāṇāyāṃ taccharaṇārtho'pi nedānīntanānāmupapadyate | tathāhi trāṇārthaḥ śaraṇārtho varṇyate yaśca buddhaṃ bhagavantaṃ śaraṇaṃ gacchati | so'śaikṣān buddhakārakāndharmān śaraṇaṃ gacchati | pradīpapravandhasyeva buddhakārakāśaikṣadharmātmakajinātyantapratyastamaye kutasteṣāṃ trātuṃ sāmarthyam | sāmarthyasambhave'nirvṛtiprasaṅgaḥ sāmarthyalakṣaṇatvādvastunaḥ | atītārthasthitasya na śaktirvyāhanyata iti cet | nātītasya tādrūpyeṇāstitve vartamānatāprāpteḥ | tathā ca saivāpratiṣṭhitanirvāṇasiddhiḥ | samastarūpapratyastamaye vā kimavaśiṣyate | atha matam | tadupadiṣṭasya pravacanaratnasya trātumadyāpi sāmarthyamastīti tasyāpi sāmarthyamucyata iti | yadyevaṃ na mukhyaṃ tarhi taccharaṇaṃ syāt | na hi tatkāryasya sāmarthyaṃ tasya bhavati | svabhāvabhedāt | tasya cādhunā sāmarthyamekāntena na pracyutamiṣyata iti | nānupacaritastaccharaṇārtho'sti | ko vāyamāgamadharāṇāmasthānanirbandho yadamī niṣkāraṇavairiṇo yuktyā gamāntaropetamapyābhiprāyikamāgamārthamullaṅkhya bhagavannirvṛtipratipādanāya sotsāhāḥ santiṣṭhante | bhagavataḥ parinirvāṇābhāve kathaṃ dhātavo dṛśyanta iti cet | nāpi dhātūnāmayogo bhagavadādhipatyādeva tadvineyānāṃ prasādāyatanadhātupratibhāsanāt | paramārthastu dhātavo neṣyanta eva | māyopamajñānamayakāyatvānmunīnāmakaluṣadhiyāmāsaṃsārāvasthānācca | yathoktaṃ suvarṇaprabhāsottamasūtre |



 



yadā śaśaviṣāṇena niśreṇī sukṛtā bhavet |



svargasyārohaṇārthāya tadā dhāturbhaviṣyati ||



anasthirudhire kāye kuto dhāturbhaviṣyati |



 



ityevaṃ nāsiddho hetuḥ | sapakṣabhāvānna viruddhaḥ | avikale kāraṇe sati kāryāsambhavāyogo bādhaka iti viparyaye bādhakapramāṇānnānaikāntikaḥ | atha matam | āsaṃsārāvasthitau mahāmuneravyāhatajñānaśaktikasyāparatathāgatotpādo vyartha ityadoṣo yasmādavyāhatajñānaśaktitve'pi yaugapadyenāpi bahubuddharūpavineyasattvārtheṣu bhagavantastathāgatāstulyakāraṇavṛttitvācchilāvastabdhamaṇḍūkoddharaṇena pṛthagjanabhūmisthitā iva dayālavaḥ pravartante | nāpyaparatathāgatotpāde pūrvatathāgatajñānaśaktirvyāhateti vaktavyam | ekatra sannipatyāpi tadrūpasannipātavineyajanasambhave sattvārthakaraṇāt | tathāhyekasyāvyāhatajñānaśaktisadbhāvenāpareṇa tattulyahetunā tathā na bhavitavyamiti nyāyyam | na hyekaḥ sūrirbhūta ityaparaistatsamānanimittairna bhavitavyam | syāt matirekatathāgatāvineyatve sarveṣāmavineya iti naivam | yasmādekasya bhagavato'vineyatvena tulyasambhāratayā bahūnāmapi tathāgatānāṃ pratyekamekaikarūpeṇāvineyo'pi sannanirmitabahubuddharūpavineyaḥ syāmiti | tathāvidhapraṇidhānādikāraṇasamākṣiptatvena yugapatsarveṣāmeva vineyo bhavati | ata eva svaparipācitasattvavinayāsambhavānnāpi śrāvakairvā samānatvamavaseyam |



 



ata evaṃ tadrūpasannipāta vineyajanāsambhavānnaikasmin samavadhānamata eva ca naikalokadhātau yugapadbahutathāgatotpattiḥ | tatsambhave'pi na virodho'pagatamātsaryerṣyādimalānām | tathā hi tairitthaṃ praṇihitam |

tathā tathāvabhāso'pi bhūyādasmatsamāśrayāt ||



 



ityalamatiprasaṅgena | nyāyopapannatathāgatanirmāṇakāyaparinirvāṇe'pyasthānānupapattirityabhiprāyavān yadītyādyanuvādapūrvakamāha | tatkathaṃ punarityādi | yadyevanna sthātavyam | tadānena bodhisattvena kathaṃ kena punaḥ prakāreṇa sthātavyaṃ pratipattavyam | śikṣitavyam | pratipattyā saṃpādayitavyam | kiṃśabdasya kṣepābhidhāyitvānnaiva kenacitprakāreṇetyarthaḥ | tadvacanenaiva parihāraṃ dāpayitumāha | tatkiṃ manyasa ityādi | yattathāgatasthānaṃ tat kiṃ tvaṃ manyase budhyase | yadi sa kathayetyāha | kketyādi | api tūpālapsye tvetyādi | prathamaparivarte yaduktaṃ tadanena pratipāditamiti grāhyam | sthānaśabdasya yathārutatvena doṣa ityabhiprāyāt prativacanamāha | na kvacidityādi | nanu gṛdhrakūṭādau sthito'pi bhagavān kathaṃ na kvacitsthita iti | tat kasya hetorityāśaṅkyāha | apratiṣṭhitamānasa ityādi | yasmādbodhisattvo'bhisambudhya tattvato dharmāṇāmanidarśanādapratiṣṭhitaṃ mānavamānasamasyetyapratiṣṭhitamānasastathāgataḥ | tasmānna kvacidupalambhayogena sthita iti pūrveṇa sambandhaḥ | tadeva kathayannāha | sa naivetyādi | saṃskṛta iti | kāmādike | asaṃskṛta iti | tathatādike | tatra na sthitastattvato vastvanupalambhāt | na ca tato vyutthita iti | naivaṃ tatrāsthito nirviṣayasya naño'prayogāt | saṃvṛtyā sthānamasthānaṃ vā prajñaptaṃ bhagavata iti matiḥ | evamasmābhirapi pāramārthikābhiniveśaniṣedhena saṃvṛtyā sarvatrāvasthānādikaṃ vidhīyate | yathā tvayoktamato na sarvathā'vasthānānupapattiriti tadvacanenaiva pariharannāha | evamevetyādi | evamevetyanantaroktakrameṇaivetyarthaḥ | tadeva vibhājayannāha | yathetyādinā | na sthitaḥ kṣaṇikānityavastvabhāvāt | nāsthito nirviṣayapratiṣedhāsambhavāt | na viṣṭhitaḥ prabandhānityavastuno'sattvānna visadṛśīṃ sthitimanuprāptaḥ | nāviṣṭhitastathaiva pratiṣeṣāsambhavāt | evamanena śikṣitavyamiti | prayogāvasthāyāṃ tathā sthāsyāmīti | tathā śikṣiṣya iti maulāvasthāyāmevamanena śikṣitavyamiti pūrveṇa sambandhaḥ | susthito'sthānayogeneti | viśeṣādhigamalābhena suṣṭhu sthito māyāpuruṣasyevānabhiniveśayogena pṛṣṭhāvasthāyāmevamanena śikṣitavyamityatrāpi sambandhaḥ | vistareṇa pratipattimevaṃ nirdiśyopasaṃharannāha | evamatretyādi | tatra kiṃ bhavatītyādi | evambhāvanādhigatāgradharmātmakena prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa viharatyata eva cāvirahito'nena manasikāreṇa bhavati | itiśabdaḥ prakaraṇasamāptyarthaḥ | tadayaṃ vākyārthaḥ | yasmāttathāgatena bodhimabhisambudhya tattvato na keciddharmāḥ samupalabdhāstasmānmāyāsvabhāvā evāmī bhāvāḥ pratibhāntīti | pramāṇapuruṣā darśanakāraṇopapannānupalambhabhāvanayā'gradharmādhigamārthaṃ vistareṇa śrotaāpattiphalapratipannakatvādidaśabhūmiṣvabhiniveśayogānna sthātavyamityevaṃ bhāvanīyamiti |

caraṇābhyāmiva gacchan gantavyamanuprāpnotīti vidyācaraṇaśabdena tistraḥ śikṣā nirdiśyante | sā ca tādṛśī dvividhāpi śāstṛtvasampat | tāṃ sugataḥ ityanenācaṣṭe | tathā hi lokottareṇa mārgeṇa śobhanaṃ jñāna prahāṇasampadaṃ gataḥ | sugataḥ surūpavat | apunarāvṛttyā vā suṣṭhugataḥ sugataḥ sunaṣṭajvaravat | niḥśeṣaṃ vā gataḥ sugataḥ suparipūrṇaghaṭavat | arthatrayañcaitadvāhyavītarāgaśaikṣāśaikṣebhyo viśeṣaṇārtham | tathā hyātmaviparyāsena bāhyavītarāgā na śobhanaṃ gatāḥ | śaikṣāstu saṃsāre punarjanmagrahaṇānna suṣṭhugatāḥ | aśaikṣāḥ punaḥ sarvajñeyeṣu jñānavibandhānna niḥśeṣaṃ gatāḥ | asyāśca śāstṛtvasampado dvividhaṃ karmeti | prathamaṃ bhavyābhavyalokāvalokanaṃ karma darśayati | lokaviditi bhavyābhavyalokaparijñānādasau lokavidityucyate | tathā hi bhagavāṃstriḥkṛtvo rātrestriḥkṛtvo divasasya buddhacakṣuṣā lokaṃ vyavalokayati ko hīyate ko vardhata ityādibhirākārairdvitīyaṃ bhavyavinayanaṃ karma darśayati | anuttaraḥ puruṣadamyasārathiriti | bhavyābhavyāllokān vyavalokya bhagavān ye puruṣā eva damyā damanārhā damayituṃ vā śakyā bhavyāstān vinayati | teṣāṃ sārathibhāvagamanāt |  vinayanaṃ hi sārathibhāvaḥ | asanmārgādapanīya sanmārge pratiṣṭhāpakatvādguṇaviśeṣādhāyakatvāccāśvādisārathivat | anuttaragrahaṇaṃ sārathibhāvaviśeṣaṇārtham | durdamānāmapi keṣāñcit puruṣadamyānāṃ tīvrarāgadveṣamohamānānāmāryasundarānandāṅgulīmāloruvilvākāśyapamahārājakapphiṇaprabhṛtīnāṃ vināyaka iti pradarśanārtham | tacca bhavyavinayanaṃ karma yatra sthitaṃ taddarśayati | śāstā devānāñca manuṣyāṇāñceti | yadyapi bhagavānaviśeṣeṇa sarvasattvānāṃ svargāpavargamārgopadeśena śāstā | tathāpi yatra tvāryasatyadarśanaṃ śrāmaṇyaphalaprāptiśca prajñāyate tatra mukhyato yathārthānuśāsanaṃ bhagavataḥ śāstṛkarmasthitiḥ | tasya ca devamanuṣyā bhājanam | ataḥ śāstā devānāñca manuṣyāṇāñcetyucyate | yatraitadguṇamāhātmyaṃ sa buddho bhagavāniti svarūpakathanam | tatra sakalapadārthāvabodhena prakṛṣṭā buddhirasyeti buddhaḥ | akārapratyayo'trārśa āderākṛtigaṇatvena kāryaḥ | prakṛṣṭā ca buddhirnavabhirākāraiḥ sarvajñajñānena | ayatnajñānena | anupadiṣṭajñānena | savāsanakleśāvaraṇaprahāṇajñānena | nikhilajñeyāvaraṇaprahāṇajñānena | sarvākārasarvasattvārthakaraṇaśaktyā | karuṇāsampattyā | akṣayatāsampattyā | atulyasampattyā ca | samagraiścaryādiyogena bhagavān | punarapi te devaputrāstathāgatānubhāvena samudaye tṛtīyakṣaṇākāraṃ pratipāditavanta ityāha | āścaryamityādi | tattvenānutpādarūpāpi saṃvṛtyā prajñāpāramitā sarvajñatāyāḥ samutpādiketi sarvabālajanātikrāntatvādāścaryam | śrāvakādibhyo viśeṣataḥ paramāścaryam | yāvadvacanena duḥkhe dharmajñānakṣāntyāderupādānaṃ sarvajñatāyeti samudaye'nvayajñānakṣānteḥ | āhāriketi | anudgrahānutsargayogenotpādikā | anuparigrāhiketi | sarvāntarāyakaradharmānavakāśayogenopastambhakārikā | tathā ca madhyamāyāṃ jinajananyāmuktam | "āścaryaṃ bhagavan yāvat prajñāpāramitā sarvākārajñatāyā āhārikā'nuparigrāhikā | anudgrahānutsargayogene"tyādi | etaduktam | "dharmadhātusvabhāvatayā prajñāpāramitāyāṃ sthitasya bodhisattvasya sarvadharmāṇāṃ nodgrahatyāgabhāvanādikamiti | sarvadharmālambane samudaye'nvayajñānakṣāntirutpadyata"iti ||
